Hi All, What weight are full rig sailors aiming to be at? im 5,10 and 74KG and am thinking of getting a full rig. should i be looking at a radial instead?

Depends how fit you are. Ideally you want to get up to 80kg, especially with your height. Prob best with the radial still. The taller you are the less the weight is an issue, because taller sailors can get their weight out further.

Get down the gym, Do 4 x12 to failure of Squats, Leg Ext, Leg Press, Bench, Chins, Lateral Raise, Upright Row, Bicep Curl, Tricep Dips and Sit ups (weighted) Eat a lot Before you know it 82kg of rippling full rig controlling machine though shalt be "It is not how fast you are, it is how fast you look"

Cheers for the advice guys. i think i might give the weight regime a try. Will try to see if i can get some more KGs on.

Eat Loads. Lift Loads. It's a winning combination.

If you havn't sailed laser before try your hand at a radial rig first.
